Had a great flight last night from D.C. to Doha on Qatar Airways. Slept peacefully for 8 hours, watched 2 movies, and eat too much good food. I have previously flown business and first class on Emirates and Etihad and I must say, Qatar is very bit as nice. We are spending 2 1/2 weeks in SA-wingshooting in 2 different areas, visits to KNP, Cape Town, the wine route and finishing with some white shark diving and fishing along the Indian Ocean. I am really looking forward to it all beer

I haven't taken a firearm on the last 7-8 safaris. Greatly simplifies traveling. Besides s shotgun is a shotgun as far as I am concerned.

Jerry, I'll be very keen on hearing details of your trip upon your return. I'm contemplating a very similar trip next year with my significant other and would appreciate any advice you can share upon your return.

We shot doves and rock pigeons today in a sunflower field. If you went more than a minute between shots, it was because you were resting or reloading. 82F was a bit warm but a great time was had. In 4 days in Kruger, we saw the Big 5 in 1 day and all but leopard every day. Rhinos and eles were everywhere. Tomorrow we hunt partridge/francolin with pointers in the AM and probably guineas in the afternoon. The only wingshooting problem I have is using a double O/U with double triggers. First time for that and I keep pulling the first trigger again thumbdown for the second shot!

Bloody amazing!

You have enough brains to be a doctor, but not enough brains to move your finger from one trigger to the other rotflmo

Unfortunately muscle memory is a hard thing to overcome. After a lifetime of shooting single trigger over/unders, the switch was a bitch!!! rotflmo The francolin and waterfowl were great in the Marble Hall area( springbuck flats). We then moved to Cape Town for 3 days of sightseeing. Next to Arniston at Cape Agullhas. Again good francolin and waterfowling. Now in Hermanus. Going white shark Irving early tomorrow. Then more wine touring...

Good to be back in the US. Sitting in the Admirals Club in Miami awaiting our last hop to Tallahassee. Africa is always great but nothing beats home.

Sitting in Doha now, nice flight and no real
problem with firearm. Ticket agent in Chicago was not sure what to do regards the firearm but between me printing their policy from the website and a supervisor, it was rather quickly taken care of. Looking forward to another S African experience.
