Will be going again in May (party of 5 hunters), and have strongly been recomended to use a meet and greet service company. Any of you who have travelled resently to Johannesburg and can recommend a company? What do they take care of other that rush one through the custom/police ? Arild Iversen.

This past september, my party used riflepermits.com. They were extremly helpful and got us through SAPS. The line was not long that day, but if it had been, I was glad we had their service. Also, the rep from the company was HOT! NRA Life Member DSC Life Member Government exists to protect us from each other. I strongly recommend Hunter's Support. This past October our plane pulled into the gate at 2:55 and we were loading our rifles into the car at 3:30 having taken care of all the needed paperwork.

If you are staying overnight in the Joberg area I highly recommend you stay at the Afton House. I always stay 2 nights at the Afton House, just to give my baggage time to catch up with me. Has not been needed yet, but the extra day does give one time to get over jet lag, if you have that problem. Also they have been real helpful when I left Joberg for Zim. Also when in Joberg, be sure and eat dinner at the Ocean Basket. DOUBLE RIFLE SHOOTERS SOCIETY

Air2000 without a doubt. I used them in April of 2007 and the service was first rate. I'm going back in May, and I consider them not only necessary, but an indespensible part of the safari. American Airlines had left my rifle in Dallas, and it didn't make the SAA flight to Johannesburg. I was in Port Elizabeth, and no one at SAA knew anything, as the rifle was not in their system. Anne at Air2000 located the rifle IN DALLAS and had it delivered to me in PE. I was doing a DVD with a Sharps buffalo rifle, so using another rifle was not an option. Air 2000 not only recovered a $3500 rifle, they saved my safari. They have my business for as long as I am able to go.

Riflepermits.com does a good job and is cheaper than air 2000, they are related to the owners of Afton House so the same person picks you up and shepherds your guns thru SAPS. PHASA also offers this service. I have spoken with Air 2000 and they seemed like good people but since My plans included Afton House it seemed a good fit. Most days the service is superflous but I always seem to be there on the other day.

Without a doubt, Air2000/HuntersSupport is the best all the way around. I wouldn't consider going or sending anyone without using them.

customerservice@holasa.co.za Sumaya at Holasa (hole-ahh-sah) met me at the airport, walked me right through everything. I barely stopped walking-- coming or going. $80 total fee. Worth every penny. I would never attempt bringing guns into Africa without someone like Holasa. Sumaya was great ! Just my .02 Trophyman Benefactor Member NRA SCI California Rifle & Pistol Assoc. Once you get there you'll see why you want to 'rush'. That's a loooong flight and you'll be begging to rush thru customs. I used Air2000 and they were great. To the 'professionals': How much did you tip the guy? If I remember correctly, I tipped $10 US.

Contact Ann @ Hunter's Support/Air2000. They've helped a number of my clients who otherwise would have had a "problem" according to the South African Police. It avoided them any trouble and saved them countless bribes...uh, I mean "contributions to the childrens drink fund."
