It looks like South Africa has a new online traveller declaration form to be completed prior to entry. Is a hunting rifle and ammunition on the prohibited or restricted list (do I answer yes or no to this question)?

If it's the one I'm thinking of Gracy Travel told me it's voluntary at this point. I passed. I wouldn't believe a rifle and ammo are restricted. I'm taking mine Thur. and staying overnight and leaving early next AM. Just a SAPS 520. You need to fill out the SAPS 520 for South Africa which deals with guns and ammo.

If I remember correctly last year when I checked in for my Delta flight they asked me about it and I had to do it on my phone quickly and then show them confirmation. No one in SA asked me about it.

Delta requested this form be completed prior to wheels up. On the ground in JNB there was no mention of this form and no problems with immigration. In the future I would just ignore the Delta request.
