Looking for feedback on Emirates, specifically out of Dulles to Dubai, then Harare.

Does Emirates offer a personal entertainment system on their flights, like that on SAA? Planes are B77er, and Airbus 340-300.

What about the Dubai airport? The only connection option I have on the way over allows 1:25hrs between flights, and there is only one flight to Harare per day. Traveling with no firearm, and both flights in Terminal 3.

Thanks!

Hate the seats in coach - but then all seats in coach suck as they get narrower.

Emirates is the best entertainment system.

Food and service is very good.

Dubai airport is easy to transfer - big large and a mixtures of all of humanity. Functions wells.

I have no experience with Emirates or Dubai airport, but 1:25 Hr. connection time is kind of tight for international flights. I would be very concerned about my luggage making the connection.

Bill

I have flown Air Emirates 4 times from SFO to Dubai overnight-ed and flew on to Harare .Traveling from SFO Emirates puts you up at their hotel no cost to you . In the morning you continue on to Harare In my opinion Emirates is the best way to get to Africa , if they have service to where you want to go. While it is best to have 2 hours between international connections . I found that having your guns checked straight through (with no guns it should be even simpler ) 1hr 25 minutes is close but sufficient . That was the connection time coming back from Harare to SFO.Dubai Airport is easy to navigate. I find that their seats in coach are the most comfortable I have had on any international airline. They have modern equipment like the 777 that have all of the bells and whistles for your I pad or any other electronic devise you might to bring with you . Latest movies hottest looking flight attendants .
Steve at travel with guns is a good travel agent to use for Emirates does all of the paper work for your gun.

Thank you gentlemen. Steve from Travel with Guns did in fact take care of me. Excellent seats selected in Coach, quite a bit less than SAA. I am looking fwd to flying Emirates and spending a day in Dubai on the way back.

The short layover is a bit of a concern, but I won't have a firearm and if my checked bag does not make it, it won't be catastrophic as I carry essentials in the carry-on. I do hope I make it! Fingers-crossed but I guess there would be worse places to be stranded.

Frosty, Buzz and I are working on something in Dande, particulars yet TBD. It has been a few years, and I need to get back!

Bill,

Emirates limits you to a 15 pound carry on. Be careful on your weight.

Cheers

Hey Bill C,

I use seatguru to check how much legroom and entertainement system and stuff. They also colour the seats according to how good or bad they are. If you ordered the seat just use the flight number and date. SAA for example differs a couple of inches in coach, i choose the plane that has te best room Smiler

Let's get down to the important question. Does SAA or Emirates have the cutest flight attendants?
