I like it that they don't seem to clutter up their rifles with square bridges.

You are opening a can of worms.

First: I should state that it is a matter of taste.
Second :I have to agree with your statement.

Third: "Cluttering" as often seen on the many clones of the double square bridge Mauser´s is not at all to my taste.

But if it is done as found on the original prewar Mauser´s it looks very good and is functional.

One of the very few remakes of the Squarebridge Mausers that follow the rules of "flatness" are those made by H&W http://www.hartmannandweiss.co...repetierbuechsen.php

Dammit, I love a double square bridge action! especially if it has a dovetail cut for Talleys with a slide filler to hide the dovetails.

I like square bridges IF they are used for the scope base(s) or if the rifle has only iron sights. Otherwise, what's the point?

Thanks for that link and I have to agree that these are the best looking square bridges I have seen. Subtle, funtional and a verry good style to them.
