Satterlee 404 PH Stainless
Satterlee Action in Stainless Steel
Stainless Krieger barrel with integral sights.
Satterlee stock molded to my pattern designed and made for the Satterlee action and bottom metal, not a retrofit. Metal finish is Cera-Kote. I use the same pattern for this stock as the wood stock. Case hardened 8620 bolt with Jewelling. Olive drab web Poline paint.
9lbs unscoped with the fiberglass stock. A Carbon fiber stock makes for a pound in weight reduction.

I like it !!! That's a cool paint job. Do you hand-lay the stock?

I usually don't care for synthetic stocks but I like that one a lot. Plus the total package looks great and is very practical.

Hand laying of the stock is part of the process to make the stock. I don't do it. To get the stock going I make a wood stock and an Aluminum dummy barreled action. Jay, a local guy who is really good at fiberglass and was at one time a mold maker for HS Precision made the mold. Jay makes the stocks and paints them after I do fit and bed. My lead time on this stock is 3 to 5 days he gets in gear to say the least. Jay also does all my paint and he's good at it. He calls this color "Tundra".

The LOP on this rifle is 14-1/2 inches. It Seems like the owner once told me he is 6'2", although I've had clients that where 5'10" with long arms and long neck that needed 14+ lop.

I fed this one for the North fork solids also. I'm integrating the feed of that bullet into my feeding regime as every day practice. Feed for the NF and anything else sings right thru without question.

Tough and functional. I like it.

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

An excellent rifle, but some of us old curmudgeons will never give up our nostalgia, and the 404 is supposed to be blue and wood! old

I agree. A lot has changed in the custom gun world in the last 25 years. Back then it was one synthetic to every 100 wood guns. Now it's the other way around. I guess that makes us appreciate the wood guns all the more.
