Bill came to $894.00! INFLATION! But, as I answerd the guy at the service station complaining about diesel prices..."I jujst hope they keep makng it"

Just a heads up.... Careful about quoting prices.

I'm sure they know that they are the only ones doing it these days.

They are the most expensive heat treater there is. Sent a dozen new production bolts 8620. Should have asked for a quote 1st but didn't. $125.00 for the 1st and $50.00 each there after for remaining 11. $675.00 for the batch, with shipping and insurance both ways $775.00

Next,
Just received back a another batch of bolts, another dozen. 8620 for case carburize, same process. This time Flame Metals in Minneapolis $178.00 FOB. with my shipping to FM $213.00 beautiful quality, very light scale. FM will have my business again. Quick turn around too, 16 days total, Darek at FM is the contact there.

Didn't ask about doing old Mausers, Didn't ask if they have a Lic. as not required for bolts.

Good information....Kinda difficult to have the guts to change...i.e. do a fair number of extended tangs and always hold my breath to see if they fit back into the inletting....So far...Blanchard is 100%

Of course, bolts are a different ball game.

I think that's what I was charged a year ago when I sent Mauser actions in for re-carburizing, $125 for the first, $50 for every one after that. Sent in a dozen to make it cost effective.

If you ever need heat treat that is non FFL, let me know.

The key is to process larger batches. Also, you will recurr multiple charges for multiple hardness/draws.
