Don't have a photo, but do have a Remington Model 7 MS in .250 Savage. Exactly what you're seeking. The laminated stock pretty much takes care of change of impact issues and is not unattractive, if a bit less than totally classic. They turn up in various calibers on Gunbroker and other such sites from time to time. I think the going rate on used ones is in the $1,000 range, give or take.

I had one issued a BSA in .270. Bloody awefull! Never want another stuzen. Now a Remington Model7 is a different kettle of fish. Light, fast and accurate. With a compact scope looks good too. A friend has an old Mannlicher and loves it. But then he likes casu marzu.

You might check with Tip Burns at Canyon Sporting Arms . He had a Mauser M 03 Stutzen. Really cool rifle! Rusty We Band of Brothers! DRSS, NRA & SCI Life Member "I am rejoiced at my fate. Ben, You got an answer in two replies ..... Something like ozhunter's Sauer M90 (can be whatever action you desire) a very atractive Stutzen. and remington40x's suggestion of a 250 Savage. Great combo. Cheers, Number 10

Hey...I'm gonna pass on a bit of historical information that was reseachesd by Paul Dressel. May be common knowledge, but I apparently wasn't paying attention. Stutzen vs Mannlicher..Apparently difference is style. A Stutzen will have a straight profile from the front guard screw to tip, Mannliocher style is slightly concaved. So...I guess Oz Hunter's photo is Mannlicher style???

Seems I recall SDH mentioning that the mannlicher is "swamped" ie. concave. Maybe on his site with the Maurice Ottmar 7x57.

In a word, YES. It may take a while, but the Merkel K3 Jagd Stutzen, in say 7 x 57 or 7-08, would just tickle my fancy to no end. However, to tide me over, I rely on these black sheep cousins! Best GWB

Ben, this one is in 243 and for sale last week in the UK: http://www.thestalkingdirector...her-full-stock-rifle Not as up-market as the one above, but not much cash to try one out and scratch that itch. No adjustable cheek pieces or muzzle brakes though.... Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not out to get you....

I had one on a Springfield '03 action in .30-06 that looked much like a 1930s vintage Griffin & Howe, with a maple stock. It was one of my favorite rifles and I killed a lot of deer with it. My son was in love with the rifle so I gave it to him for his birthday a few years ago. He is now adding to the game it has taken. Here is a photo of the first elk he took with it. I would love to have another in something like 6.5x55. One morning I shot an elephant in my pajamas. How he got into my pajamas I'll never know. - Groucho Marx

A friend has a Stutzen BSA in .243 & it shoots accurately & consistently. Someone did a fine job on the trigger too, as it's far better than other BSA triggers I've come across.
