Just got some intel on this.

The ACGG Banquet is now scheduled for Friday night (Jan 4, 2013) during the Dallas Safari Club annual convention. Craig Boddington will be the guest speaker for the ACGG banquet. Tickets are $60 each and will be available at the show. In the near future they will be available online.

Yeah I know, but if I'm gonna pay actual green dollars for the trip then I'd like to hear someone else. Even Glenn F (grin). AAMOF I like Glenn a LOT more and he's a LOT funnier!

But then sometimes I hafta remind Glenn that 'looks aren't everything!' (VBG & FOTFLMAO!)
Y'all have fun at the show, regards, Joe

So how does it work.. to go to the ACGG show.

Do I have to buy a ticket to DSC?
Do I have to be a member of DSC/SC?

The ACGG says nothing. DSC site.. I didn't bring a lawyer but it looks like it's $175 for Saturday?

No to both questions. You buys your ticket at the door for $20 and you gets in to all the good stuff. (I think I am correct on this)

I think that $175 relates to the SCI show, not DSC; two different entities.

You are correct Jim. $20 gets you in the door for all the DSCI and the ACGG shows.

Make sure you get there early enough to see all of the custom gunmakers, then go to the banquet. Lots of stuff donated will be up for auction.

Market Hall is large enouh for both and still have room for several other events. The DSCI is very large, but they're plenty of room for multiple shows.

Gentlemen:

Just so it is all perfectly clear, the ACGG Exposition is a separate show held inside the DSC show. However, your ticket to get into DSC gets you the whole show. There is no charge to enter the ACGG show once you are inside DSC. Just walk in and say hey.

DSC has been wonderful to work with and is a first class organization.

The banquet and auction, which is where Colonel Boddington will speak, is a separate affair held Friday evening at the Hyatt hotel just down the street. That requires a $60 ticket, which will be available on line when the new website is up. Do come to the banquet. We are going to have a lot of good stuff on the auction block.

It would be great to see you all at the show!

Respectfully,

Glenn Fewless
VP ACGG

PS: Joe: I was going to speak at the banquet, but we couldn't come to terms about the honorarium. They said I could speak for free, but they would pay me not to...

I figured it went something like that (you know, being charitable, grin), or else it could have been that they had seen your previous performances and had then FORBIDDEN you to speak unless you paid Craig's honorarium.....

Regardless, I wish you the very best of luck!
Best regards, Joe

I don't usually plug stuff but heck it's my brother's bar. Tates' Craft Cocktails on McKinney is a great new high end cocktail bar and tappas place for the discerning drinker after the show.

Thanks for the information. For those of us from out of town a little local knowledge is welcome.

Jim, I heard they were going to ask you to speak, but you don't know as many big words as Craig does :-)

A little over 3 miles to the north by road; not quite stumbling distance but a short taxi ride.
