Hi all,

Im going to be having a custom single shot made up for me, it will have a similar stock profile as a Ruger No1 in terms of the sizing for a recoil pad. I am going to be buying a few things to give to the 'smith and one of those is the recoil pad.

Can any one tell me what the difference is between the Pachmayr D752B (http://www.midwayusa.com/product/1115131620/pachmayr-d752b-decelerator-old-english-recoil-pad-grind-to-fit-leather-texture-1-thick) and Pachmayr 752B (http://www.midwayusa.com/product/1115114460/pachmayr-752b-old-english-recoil-pad-grind-to-fit-leather-texture-1-thick) Old English pads? And which size do I need?

Any input appreciated thanks.

If you want traditional looks, go with the CTSM leather faced red pad. If you want recoil absorbtion go with Sorbothane.

Visit any Sporting Clay match where 1000s of rounds are fired ....Sorbothane dominates.

They are the same shape and sizes.
The 752B is the original version made of neoprene.
The D752B is the Decelerator made of some newer high tech soft rubber.
The size you need depends on the size of the butt stock.

Thanks for the info guys, just what I was after! I'll have a look at those other manufactureres. I think the Galazan pads are pretty similar to the Silvers if Im not mistaken and while they look great, I think Id be wanting something with better recoil absorption.

Im not familiar with Sorbothane pads at all but Ill check them out.

The Pachmayr Old English red pad looks like it offers a good trade off between looks and recoil absorption.

Thanks again and cheers!
