I really like it.

What bullet weight are you using?

Why is the twist rate an odd number?

Why would you choose a Pierce action over a Stiller? I don't have a preference since I don't know enough about each action to know the difference. So, I'm curious.

I've thought seriously of selling several rifles, and start a project using a 700 clone, like the Stiller. I'm still considering it.

Thanks.

BTW, those lighter weight TSX 30 cal bullets are awesome, eh? Last year I had about 70 bullets left over in .311 / 123gr from when I was shooting the 7.62x39. So, I loaded them in 7.62x54R for shooting in my MGM Encore barrel. I never cronographed them but I suspect about 3200 fps. They blow through deer and leave a nasty exit, but very effective. The accuracy was surprising too. I never realized the accuracy potential of the Encore until I tried this combo. I didn't match the group in your picture, but darn close.

For deer and hogs the 130gr .308 ought to be just as impressive.

I had a Stiller Predator on my last 308. I wanted something different. If you call and talk to john pierce he will answer all of your questions. Nice guy. Never heard or read a bad thing about his actions and I have about stiller.

I would look at pierce, defiance, surgeon, Borden, before stiller.

I know the 130 strike like the hammer of Thor. Honestly I love shooting light weight bullets as fast as I can push them when they are stout bullets like the TTsx.

If you want more specifics on my build let me know. I was very vague.

I'd rather have a couple super nice rifle than 10 decent ones

You can only hunt and shoot with one at a time anyways.

Did you have problems with YOUR Stiller?

John

Lord, please grant me the strength to change the things I can, the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, and the wisdom to know the difference.

it didnt feed as well as i liked. that couldve been the builder? who knows. i had a shot on a deer that when i pulled the trigger firing pin didnt cause the primer to ignite....temps were in the 20's.... i never greased the spring or anything... scared me

stiller has a great rack record and great name. im not starting an anti-stiller thread here... they make great stuff but i wanted something different
