Presenting a completed A.M. Little Bespoke Gunmaker .375H&H built on a Winchester pre-64 M70 action. The rifle has both top and bottom extended tangs. A spectacular piece of Turkish walnut was set aside for this project. With its 25” barrel the rifle finished at 8lbs 2oz w/irons, and 9lbs 13oz with its Schmidt Bender 2.5-10x50 Polar T96 scope. Engraving performed by John Todd of Aurora, CO.

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing. The scope bases are stellar, especially in conjunction with John's engraving!

Agree and it's the other small things like the Allen head action screws, practical and attractive.

Young man, this piece just keeps getting better the longer I look at it.

The owner chose more scope than I'd personally see a need for but, hey, differences of opinion are what makes horse races!

The scope came with great chastisement from his siblings kid, whom I’ve built a rifle for as well. I took a more diplomatic approach and gave him what he wanted.

Beautiful work. Congrats to the owner and kudos to the builder. The extended top tang and the scope bases are both highlights. The stock is beautiful with wonderful grain flow. The red Silvers pad is perfect with overall look of the rifle. Just well done.

I am curious about what others think of an issue that has always had me flipping back and forth. I love color case hardening. I love the look and I love the uniqueness in that that no two case colored guns will ever look the same. I also love tasteful engraving. Personally I tend to be more of a minimalist when it comes to engraving, preferring border engraving, simple scroll and rose, etc. Where I struggle is mixing color case hardening and engraving. It just seems to me that the color casing has a way of obscuring and detracting from the engraving. Curious what others think. To be clear, this comment is in absolutely no way intended to detract from this fine rifle build that I would be proud and thrilled to call my own.

Well...as I've said before..."man wants a blue suit, you turn on the blue lights"...

I argree that bolt gun engraving should be approached as if you had a low budget The canvas of side pates and single shots,...why not?

On the other hand,,Any bolt gun looks naked without screw head embellishment a lttle stippling on the sights and decent lettering

I have read that the bolt handle should not be exactly 90 degrees to the bolt body or it will appear as if it is sligtly slanted forward. As I look at the pics, it seems this handle follows that
suggestion and is angled back slightly. Can you provide the exact angle between bolt and bolt body?

This one would have been as close to 90 as I could get it! Angle of photos may be altering perception.
