Anyone making a close repro of the Oberndorf Type "M" butterknife bolt handle?

FISH!!

Heed the words of Winston Smith in Orwell's 1984:

"Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right."

any good gunsmith worthy of the name, as opposed to a parts assembler, should be able to do that in an hour of less if you have rough dimensions or a good picture.

My guy is going to be eighty this year, it took him two hours to guide me in making barrel band sling swivels, and another two hours to make my first barrel band ramp front sight base.

It has taken him about three hours so far, to show me how to make scope bases that mimic the double square bridge Mauser actions. A bit of file work, and the seam is all but undetectable.

Of course, that presupposes you know how to do file work and visualize a block of steel on the mill or lathe.

Good luck in your quest.

I'll give them a call, but their website does show any bolt handles, nor does their "toy chest" special order link.

Not an orberndorf, but these are the ones I make. More of a BRNO style. I'm out of commision for a little while with a broken ankle but will have more in a couple months.
