I have a 30/40 that I think I might sell would anyone know the best avenue to list this firearm. I know they are highly sought after to the right people. Boondocker: That's a pretty thin market you are looking at...If you want to avoid the primary gun auctions sites,I'd suggest a established dealer with good rep.and visibility.Bill Goodman,Joe Salter,and Leroy Merz come readily to mind..ONe or two of mine came from these guys,but it's been so long I can no longer recall or look up which or when.. I am not so sure. You can always put it on an auction site with a high reserve and see what happens. About a year or so ago a bubbafied very late WWII 98 Mauser brought over $20 grand because of it's rare mfg code. | |||

Thanks guys I am still up in the air about getting rid of it.The guys on the Castboolit forum thinks I should try some cast in it. I just may as shooting cast is really fun. boondocker: I've fired big plenty cast bullets from my R-L 30/40(and the 45/70 and 30/30 also)In Fact,cast is all I shoot from these old timers..One thing I found out the hard way was that once-fired cases from the Krag could not be resized enough (with my die set)to chamber in my R-L. Had to go buy new 30/40 cases... | |||
