On Memorial Day, let us not forget those who served and gave all for the freedoms that we have today. Let us not forget those who are still amongst us, especially from WW ll. There are not many left and each year when I help my dad make the trip to the reunion of the Battleship Nevada, BB36, there are fewer and fewer veterans from that era. Just a handful of the old sailors left and even though many, like my dad, have a very difficult time getting around, they suck it up and make the trip to see their brothers who faced together hell during the Pacific campaign.

Let us not forget those who served in Korea, my brothers from Vietnam, the Iraqi War and all conflicts around the world. Let us not ever forget the sacrifices made by all and especially those who gave all.

Let us never forget them. If you know a veteran be sure and give them a handshake and a very simple “THANKS”, you can’t just imagine what that one simple word means to a Veteran.
