I've got a Colt model 6724 H bar "elite" it has a 24" stainless barrel but the diameter is not quite what you would call a "varmint" barrel. It is very accurate with lighter ammo <55grains.

H-bar barrel are NOT the same as the A2 profile. they are much heavier. Unless you're building a varmint or BR gun, I'd recommend the MilSpec barrels instead of the H-Bars.
Companies like BushMaster normally sells the heavy barrels since the profit margins are higher on those. But the "A2 govn't" profile are available as an option.
