Greetings! Has anyone seen, handled, fired, or owned the Finnish M-39 7.62x54R W/ 8x Ill Ret. Russian Scope? This is the rifle sent from the distributer with original wood stock, after market bent bolt, and has mounted an 8x Ill Ret. Russian Scope, put out by Inter Ordnance. I am interested in purchasing a sample and trying it out, as some of my customers have expressed an interest in these, and am interested in any feedback. How are they? Also, do the Finnish m-39's have a .308 or .311 bore diameter? [ 11-13-2002, 06:31: Message edited by: Sean VHA #60013 ]

Dave, Greetings! What kind of accuracy are you experiencing with your scoped m-39 like the one in the pic? I was thinking my customers might enjoy this as an relatively inexpensive yet quality deer rifle.

The Finnish M39s slug at .310, so you'll want to use .3105" or .311" bullets. I sometimes also use .309" 123 grain bullets made for reloading the SKS.

I have one that wants to shoot but I haven't found the real "right" combination yet. After I loctited the scope mount screws it started to be more reliable. The Barnul 200gr "el cheapo" has shot best so far -3 shots in 3/4" It's a fun rifle but the scope is hard for me to get used to. i think it's well worth the price.

the finish (and "enfield" looking sights, has either a sako or tikka barrel, most of the time, and chrome lined. If its not a crawfish hole barrel, it'll shoot right with the mausers... with a scope, my stepbrother shots 1" with yellow tips... my svt shoots better, but not as reliable. btw, the bolt is multipiece, and I've had to replace the head on mine.. i got it that way,, but, for 10 buck and a 20 buck rifle, it's a god enuogh throwdown rifle for brush blasting/hunting.. I've got the ocagon rec, so I am not putting a scope on mine jeffe

This rifle is vantastic, I regularly shoot it out too 300 meters and have used it at 600 meters on 6 inch steel targets, for the price in a Sniper style rifle you can not beat it. 100 YARD AMMO TESTS DONE best group was .245 IMO M39 1. WOLF AMMO 200 GRN BIMETAL SP 2 SHOTS TOUCHING AND 3RD ONE 2.071 DOWN AND RIGHT 2. S&B 180 GRN SP 1.654 GROUP 3. WINCHESTER 180GRN FMJ 2 SHOTS TOUCHING AND ONE DOWN AND RIGHT .841 4. RUSSIAN JSC BARNAUL 203 GRN SP .245 GROUP ALL SAID AND DONE I WAS DISAPPOINTED IN THE S&B AND THE WINCHESTER IS $17.00 A BOX, MY RIFLE LIKES THE RUSSIAN JSC BARNAUL 203 GRN, GOOD FOR ME IT IS THE CHEAPEST $3.50 A BOX, TIME TO STOCK UP.
