I have a line on a Gewehr 33/40 Mountain troop carbine, near mint all matching, Dot 42 manufacture. The seller wants 2000.00 for it, is it worth it? How rare are these carbines? short and fat and hard to get at, hit like a hammer and never been hit back.

They are rare if indeed it is in "near mint" condition. I would offer a lower amount figuring on splitting the difference. Doug Humbarger NRA Life member Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club 72'73. Yankee Station Try to look unimportant. Your enemy might be low on ammo.

If it is truly mint, complete, unaltered and all matching, probably worth $2K. NRA Life Member, Band of Bubbas Charter Member, PGCA, DRSS. Shoot & hunt with vintage classics.
