As a Marine, My hat's off to the MAN! The horrors of war don't show up for years. God Bless him.

Am I correct in thinking that it is the Medal of Honor awarded by Congress and not the Congressional MOH? Not splitting hairs but if I was a recipient I sure as hell don't want Congressional (or any political connotation) associated with the Medal as if they decided who deserved it. Knowing why and for who it was awarded is important. Just a little burr in my saddle. Getting obstreperous in my old age.

He recently spoke here at the Chennault Aviation Museum. A real hero from a dark time in our history. Not many redlegs have earned the MOH and he certainly earned his.

The Medal of Honor is also known as the Congressional Medal of Honor (CMH)

http://www.history.army.mil/moh.html states:

The President, in the name of Congress, has awarded more than 3,400 Medals of Honor to our nation's bravest Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen since the decoration's creation in 1861.
