What animals are legal to hunt in Canada in February?

What are the rules for visiting hunters, without bringing a firearm?

Saeed.......if you want a real winter hunting experience you could do one of the winter mountain goat hunts in February with one of the few outfitters in NW BC that offer them. Fantastic winter coats and the BEST place to try for a monster billy.
Check out Bolen-Lewis at:http://www.bolenlewis.com/

Not sure if Angus Morrison does the winter hunts, but he is a member on AR and his website is: http://wildcoastoutfitters.ca/specials/

Another option would be wild wood bison with Mervyn's Outfitting in the Yukon. Fantastic hunt in truly wild country, but bitter cold. His website is:
http://yukonsheep.com/index.htm

Further north you go, shorter the days.....as in few hours of daylight and colder than a witches heart. Smiler

Other than that it is also prime time for cougar (mountain lion) and none better than Chilcotin Hillbilly on AR who hunts in the Chilcotin area of BC. Lynx could possibly be added and of course coyote and wolf are open as well in most parts of Canada in February.

So there are a few more options than just "varmints".

Yup a few options as outlined by skyline.

Cougars, bobcats, lynx
Wolves, coyotes
Bison
Mountain goat

Visitors from certain countries need visas to visit Canada. Other than that pretty simple

Saeed,

Husband did the February Mountain Goat hunt with Bolen & Lewis and had a fantastic time. He used the outfitter's rifle. Link has some scenery photos and he passed on some goats.

Hot shower, excellent food, and nice accomodations.

The owner/guide Mike Lewis is a great guy.

Come on, no worse than Minnesota and our weather actually moderates a lot of the time. Smiler Warm clothes and you're good to go.

To answer your specific questions, you’ll need a non-resident hunting licence for the province or territory you are in. They will also require you to hire a licensed guide.

You don’t require a gun licence if you remain under the direct and immediate supervision of a licensed adult (your guide).

Personally, I think I’d do the wood bison hunt.

This! Tim runs a top shelf outfit and that hunt is genuinely hard work for a really rare species. Definitely NOT a pasture shoot. I have hunted them three times with Tim (successful all three times) with the first being shot in sheep country...but with snow. Smiler

If you are concerned about cold weather, just remember, there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad choices in clothing! ;-)
