| I'm glad that you are giving the guy a break, Boiler, it is pretty easy to mock someone on these forums and it seems to be those who have the least amount of hands-on hunting and shooting experience who are most likely to do this. I prefer to read about actual experiences rather than the cut and paste expertise that some people employ.
As to the .270 Weatherby, this was the second cartridge I ever reloaded for, in the spring of '68 and it was in an Al Biesen custom Pre-64 Mod. 70, a lovely rifle. Even with the old-style Nosler Partitions of that era, it would shoot tiny groups, but, the muzzle blast was outrageous. In those days, we never used earmuffs, shooting glasses or strap-on recoil pads, but, we managed to get by.
I have never shot or loaded for a .270WSM and doubt I ever will; this is an old cartridge dredged up by Winchester for marketing purposes and I cannot see any real improvement over the regular .270 Win. But, anything that sells rifles and conponents and keeps interest in shooting up benefits us all.
I know that my very fast .264Win. is roughly 400 fps faster than my pair of .270s and that means that it is about 2 " flatter at 300yds-big deal!I do not and never have cared for small-bore magnums, I have owned 3 7Mags. and the .264 and shot about everything else, I can do anything they do with my .270s or .280 and I don't have that vicious blast. |

| Well, I find your posts worthwhile and when I read that post that you first posted and then deleted, I thought that it sounded like a lot of the stuff that we see on these forums, someone who simply must try to put someone else down without knowing anything about them.
I make a point of never posting about anything that I have not actually done or witnessed first hand, but, I get snotty posts directed at me just as you did; it is a pain in the ass, but, this forum and a couple of others are usually pretty good.
If, I want to have some fun, I just go to the "Politics" section and shoot my mouth off, a guy can always find some fun there!
As far as experts go, I have 40 yrs. experience at this and I find that I know less now than when I started. I'm pushing 58 and I was so much smarter at 18....... |

Grizzly atacks are a very important topic!!!
Grizzlies are behind just about every bush and tree, dammit!!
Time to take a few of those "Grizzly hunt ban" fuckers for a walk in the woods.
CGN is gone again, I was told, that it was just a test forum, and that the new one when it's up will require us to register yet again. |

| Yup, a bunch of nitwit post whores at that site. How many times do you have top see someone cheering that they have 1000 or 2000 posts before you realize these people need to get a life. There's a couple regulars there that post here that seem to me anyways to have some valuable experience to pass on so I'll be sticking with this site. |

| Just registered to say...I have to agree with most of you guys I joined the old board from the very beginning, I learned a lot from the board, and it changed me alot as well. I became more political active for hunting and gun ownning... The board has been changed. I can always go back to those hunting boards that I started from... I'm a 42 newbie, not much to share...but always dreaming to have my Africa hunt ...after 50 |
