In the US photo radar is less prevalent than in Canada - Americans would shoot up the cameras. There is no way a government could put in a tax in the US that 80% of the people opposed. Too many have guns. No way in America a foreigner who had a position by birth could come visit and have everyone kiss ass, name highways and schools after them, too many have guns. The Canadian government understands this, that if they want to have a docile population they have to have a disarmed population. Maybe not today, but as the years go by the laws will have their effect and gradually ownership of guns will diminish and finally become illegal.

No but the US has as its Head of State a person who is a political entity, is replaced every 4 or 8 years and often has nearly 50 % of the voters, let alone the total population opposed to his policies and ideology. We have an old gal who has no ideas. (All right an exageration, she likes dogs....actually she is forbidden to express political opinion, maybe she does have opinions but they are not expressed.)
