Here's some video a friend got of a wolf pack in Northern Alberta. He was running an excavator when he caught some movement down the line.
This was shot with an Iphone so that is why it is a narrow view. At one point they were as close as 20 feet. He climbed out onto the track and the wolf just stood there. Pretty ballsy :w00t:
From what I see and hear from family members in Washington State, the wolf population is starting to take off. About 20 years ago, we started to see sign and hear about sightings of wolves, but now, there are confirmed individuals, and no doubt about their presence.

We have no shortage of them in Alberta. There are some counties that have bounties and we have cull programs in place. They still seem to be increasing in n umber. A lot are shot each year as targets of opportunity by hunters after deer/elk/moose.

I'd think that video might have been taken at the "bombing range" The contractors can work there but no civilian firearms allowed, so the wolves get pretty used to people and the yummy sandwiches they share with them at lunch time.
It was once a dream of mine to live out in the Canadian great northern wilderness for a whole year-particularly in the NWT Nahanni area-alot of wolves in that area.
