Hello all. Self guided trips are far from easy. But, they can be very interesting. So, can a non US/Canadian citizen do a self guided hunt for moose and caribou in Canada, Yukon, area? Any tip on outfitters and so are great. Thans for looking Cheers all Vegard_dino

I do believe the answer to your question is no. The only province that would possibly let you hunt moose without a guide is Ontario. I know that a U.S. citizen can hunt moose with out a guide there, but I believe they have to buy the tag through an outfitter/lodge. Through out the rest of Canada, though, you would have to employ the services of a guide.Knute

it is not possible to do a self guided hunt for non residents in the Yukon. Although a Yukon resident can guide a non resident Canadian once every three years. Watson Lake
