I found a nice valley, which sloped down to some farm country. Looked like a perfect spot to ambush a buck wandering back up from the fields.

11:45 this guy came out.

He saw me, but I was dressed in white, so he couldn't figure out what I was, and he was upwind of me.

Hit him with one shot, .45/70 350gr Hornady right lung, bullet angled through into his left hip.

The buck took off running hard and I could not get another shot off. But he piled up into the brush. Just buried himself into the Tag Alders.

^ Hmm... well it's a 19" wide, 5 pt... that would be 5 on each side.
A ten point according to Easterner's.

Nice little buck, 148" B&C. He was a few years away from his prime, but when he stepped out looked huge, they way he presented.

^ The .45/70 strikes like the Hammer of Thor.

Beauty of a deer, certainly not a "little buck" by most standards!
