Gates! I am glad my misfortune gave you some glee. Smiler I think the German term for that is "schadenfruede". I am not sure what the German word for "jerk" is though. Razzer Wink Big Grin

You should note that it was three separate incidents...not one. Smiler The bolt handle on my 470 Mbogo got me twice (the third shot of consecutive three-shot strings in each case), the second incident removing a little skin and causing bleeding. The eyebrow smile was from my 416 Taylor...it felt like a 25/06 after the big boys and I let my guard down too much. Big Grin

Next time make and effort and come shoot with us eh!

Cheers,
Canuck

Arre you nuts? I'll end up sooting all those big ass guns, and getting dinged in the forehead, and ruiining my stunning good looks!

I'll try for the next one..If it is in Williams Lake or Kamloops I'll be there for sure. Big Grin

Meantime, maybe I can get over to the Sunshine Coast this summer... Wink

HI Graylake,
Don't be too worried about editing clips I think that I sent a dozen to Canuck the other night.

Gatehouse if you make it to the coast call this time. You can try out the 470's, Taylors etc.
Take good care,
Dave

Those vid clips are awesome!!.....Guess I better go ahead with the .458 Lott on my spare MRC action. Was thinking of a .358 Norma or .404 Jeffery, but heck what fun would that be?

Maybe I'll leave my little pi$$-ant .416 at home next year Big Grin

Maybe everyone could tell us all about their Rifles? Actions/stocks etc., etc.

Something I'll only admit to once. A bunch of us were playing with a 378 improved various 375 AI's and H&H's. When a buddy brought out his light 338 Parker & Hale, my first/last shot, I was leaking pretty good. An uproarious laughter at my expense ensued for quite awhile. (the 378 improved was mine) Funny how the blood flows when your trying to hide it. Roll Eyes

Smiler True. I was fortunate on this one...it only bled about one good sized drop. 3 days later it ain't even scabbed anymore. But you can bet I won't let my guard down with that little bahstad anymore! Big Grin

Cheers,
Canuck

Hi cmfic1
My 470 Mbogo is built on a CZ 550 with a Pac Nor barrel and a MacMillan stock. It comes in a little on the light side at 9.25 lbs so the recoil is a bit sharper than my other one. It has a custom front sling swivel as well. I find the Mac Millan stock a little on the slippery side so I have intentions of changing that feel. I wish I had my wood stocked one up there so Lonny could have tried it. The pistol grip is about an inch longer than the MacMillan.
My 416 Taylor was built on a Ruger 77 Mk1 with the pistol grip safety, a Douglas barrel and a Bell Carlson stock complete with an F990 pad.
Take good care,
Dave

Yes I did because CZ550 actions only were not an option at the time. Now you can just order an action, barrel and stock along with your choice of sights. It does make it easier and cheaper. If you like the CZ stocks you can just rebarrel.
See you at the next big bore shoot,
Dave

Good show, boys.

Looks like we might have to organize an Eastern shoot. Us boys out here might be surrounded by liberals, but we still got our shootin' irons.

Anybody in Ontario or Quebec up for it? I can contribute a .375 H&H, .416 Rigby and .458 WM. What's everybody else got?
