Winchester M-70 in .30-06 as my main do-it-all rifle.

Winchester 1894 in .30WCF for when the deer head into the dark stuff.

Winchester M-70 in .22-250 for critters ranging from coyotes up to wolves.

A BSA Hunter that is in at the gunsmiths right now being fitted with a new barrel chambered in .338-06. It should make a hell of a moose & bear rifle.

Marlin 39A for most things suitable to shoot with a .22 rimfire.

Browning BPS 12 gauge for everything that flies.

You guys crack me up. [Big Grin]

I have owned alot of different guns in alot of different chamberings. From 22LR. to the 375H&H. I am sure like most of you have.
The 7mm rem. Mag was a long time favorite and still is. So was the 25-06.They all worked as long as you put the bullet where it is supposed to go. I have decided to trim some fat in the gun safe.

I am going to stick with my new favorite, a custom M70 .30/338.
I soon will have a M700 in a 25-284.

These will be the two guns I will hunt everything with.
Going is the 7mmSTW and my 338Win.Mag. This is a hard thing to do, but I am more and more believing in the one gun hunter for various reasons.

turnerhunter- not enough guns? I wish my wife would say that! The ones I listed previously are the ones I mainly use for hunting this year. Here's a more complete list of what I shoot.
-22lr
-223 Rem
-6.5X54
-6.5X55
-7X57
-8X57JS
-9.3X57
-9.3X62
-9.3X74R
-9.3X64
-308
-303 Brit
-30 Carbine
-357 Mag
-45-70
-43 Mauser
I load for 'em all(except the 22lr) and I love 'em all. As for actual Canadian guns, I have your usual Cooeys and a Longbranch. Most of my guns are Mausers or other European makes, with a sprinkling of Ruger, Reminton, and the odd Winchester. The question I have is this- Is it possible to have too many guns?

I still hunt a lot with my first big game rifle. A #4 Lee Enfield. I rebarrelled it to 30/40 Krag several years ago but it's still the same rifle I got when I was 14.
I have a 35 Whelen I built on a 1935 mauser that I like to carry when hunting the timber.
The other big game rifle I use quite a bit is a pre-war M70 which has been rebarrelled to 308 Norma mag.
I have some others which serve no real purpose since I hardly ever shoot them let alone hunt with them and I will no doubt build more. In fact, the ultimate 303 sporter is on the drawing board now! Regards, Bill.

The guns I use for hunting are:

#2 enfield in 303 - which ive used for deer and coyotes
rem 700 in 8mm rem mag - so far I've only shot a coyote with it
rem 700 in .223 with a Ron smith barrel - just got it back and it will be my gopher/coyote gun
mauser 98 sporter in .270 win
savage 342 in 22 hornet - gophers and rabbits
and hopefully this year if the weathers nice
a 1860's 3 band snider enfield

for birds I have:
Benelli SBE - ducks and rough weather
belgian A5 - gets some time in the duck blind
and when I get all the reloading stuff for it
a rigby hammered double rifle converted to 28ga with 2 1/2" chambers.

I also collect swedish mausers, lee enfields, martini's wich I hope to hunt with next year, and other military guns

Of course I think I'm the only one with the right combination for the least money (haha)
12 guage (duck and Geese)
300 win mag. in a Ruger #1 stainless (everything with different bullets)
444 Marlin (for when I shoot it with the 300 and it growls at me, runs into a thicket and waits)
But most prized of all is my little beat up old Savage in 22/20 guage. It shoots grouse to moose and has already saved my dog from a 375 lb dry sow black bear, shot 40 feet from my front door. It's like Mac Donalds "It does it all for you". And at a cheap price.

When I hunt I usually take the most Yankee of rifles,a Remington M700 30.06.If the hunt looks to be rough, another Yankee,a Winchester a push-feed M-70 30.06.They both take the exactly the same load.

Do you guys honestly think the Cdn Firearms Agency doesn't spy here?

We've often discussed in "politics" how this appears to be someone's intel setup. Personally I suspect its US.

You honestly think THEY won't share your names etc with the Cdn Firearms Agency?

Guns mmmm.
First few weeks of hunting season a CZ varmint 22 just for chickens (can't hunt anything else) when big game opens a .340 and a 9422 or if I am out of the way a.22 pistol for the chickens since it it hard to carry our pack ,heavy clothing and 2 rifles.
In the last part of the season I trade the .340 for a .308 (deer gun)I use a Susuki side kick to get around and as a truck gun I have my Ruger no:1 in 375 H&H.
I found if you are on your way to your hunting area and see something shootable the long guns are a pain to get out of the truck Quick.
As far as the rest, they are mostly clasics like winch from 22 to 45-70,target rifles ,semi auto in308 ,black powder 50 ML,50-2 1/2 Sharps some 602"s in 416 and 500AS a 338/378 and some shotguns

Yup, they probably do look in here, and just to give them something besides the bird, I'll anounce that I went hunting with my UNREGISTERED Win '94 30-30 this year. Scored a nice little doe for my freezer with it, and blew a chance at a monster buck by looking the wrong way when he stood up. (no shot)

Lately I have been using my T/C .54 Renegade , a Tikka 30-06 and a Weatherby Orion O/U 12 gauge. Other rifles in the past were a Browning B78 in 30-06, Pedersoli Rolling Block 45-70 Black Powder, Rem 788 in .243. Once in a while I use the old No 4 Lee Enfield that started it all.

Umm let's see:

At my Lodge in Canada, I only keep a Browning 50 caliber A 2 for my long range hunting, poaching and Big Game rig.

For varmints, I use my Thompson submachine gun, or my Uzi.

My M 16 is in the shop, along with my M1A.

For personal handguns, I only carry a Glock 9mm with a 18 round clip. The alarms don't go off when I carry it thru airport security.

BRUCE, is this what you were refering too? Thanks for letting me keep all of this stored at your house with all of that reloading powder and the 15,000 rounds of ammo.
