Here is a cross section view cut.. The pic is a greatly magnified... This is the lower half cut below the cannalure on the bullet.

To me the bottom half seems to thin and rifling would cut into or really be coming in contac with the steel capsule.

your rifling is about .005 per side... looks okay to me, but try to meausure it..

I'll drive one through a .458 barrel in the next day or so, if i remember

"Copper clad" is industry jargon for thick copper plating. I always thought that the copper plating on steel-jacketed solids was for lubricity in the bore and corrosion resistance in the field. It deforms very well with the steel when being engraved by the rifling. So it shouldn't be an issue with barrel wear.


"Experience" is the only class you take where the exam comes before the lesson.

Isn't "expanding solid" like military intelligence or french/italian war hero?
I always thought soft point was for expanding, solid was for deep penetration. Hmmm...

I.S. The only expansion is a compression of the nose. There is no full mushrooming of the bullet. It would work like the NF cup point. more destruction and deep penetration.

I am going to load up a few I have and will recover the bullet and post a pic of it..
