There is on for sale on gunsamerica.com right now!

http://www.gunsamerica.com/guns/976699283.htm

Where is says model is reads: Alexander Henry .500 3 1/8". But down in the description is reads: A. Henry 577/500 3 1/8" mag. Hope this is what you are talking about. I have no other info on the round, if I find some I'll post it here for you.

Jens,
I have a Manton top lever hammer double in the 2 13/16 version and at one point owned an Alex Henry Martini in the same. There are four and possibly five versions, 2 13/16 and 3 1/8 BPEs and the same in Nitro for Black. The possible is a full blown Nitro on the 3 1/8 case, I have only seen one reference to one load and it was listed as experimental. There seems to be a lot of "talk" about the full nitro load but I'd want to see the proofs on the rifle before I'd say they existed in a production rifle. In the BPEs powder charges were 130 gr for the 2 13/16 and 164 for the 3 1/8, bullets were in the 340-380 gr range for the short version and up to 440 for the longer. Nitro for black versions used the 440 gr bullet and 53-56 gr of cordite. Velocities for these ranged from 1775 to 1875.

Man, that is a beauty!

I'm sure glad I didn't see it a month back when I bought a .577/450 instead (single shot martini).
