Hello Gentleman,

here I want to post to you an interessting story:

In the last week, I had the big and interessting opportunity to "guide" Ivan Carter from Frankfurt (Aiport) to Gleichamberg (Heym factory) and back again.

First:
Ivan is an great guy, an kind of extrem-athletic (I hope you know this word in english, in German: Ausnahme-Athlet) as I trained in my sportsacademy each day.

He has -as many of know- an great feeling for the nature, africa, weapons and hunting...
...and hunting ethics, because this is very important in Germany.

Maybe you know it:
We had an Germany an advantege and dis-atvantege at the same time, we call it german over-ruling.
And so we had to go -for the normal way- to an hunting education and course for more than one year to beome an hunters-licence (Jagdschein)
We had to know the complete flora and fauna and animals in Germany. The "real" weapon-handling comes a little bit to short in this time, but this is an other story.
We had some hunting traditions (good and bad) and at the end we must know e. g. 20 different hunting signals, pp.
If it makes sence..., yes sometimes.

Ivan knews a mutch of this and he can make an transition to his own knowlege and expirience.

We had an great time, of course I had ask him whatever I want and he will give me his ideas.
And all for free!
:-)

At the factory he had given an seminar of his style of shooting, hunting, rifles and african animal management.
Very interessting.

After we go shooting and weapons testing.
I had some experienece too, this is a part of my dayly job, we had the experts at Heym and so we come to some great ideas.

At the end Ivan gets his rifle back from the Heym-Boss Thomas Wolkmann. His famous (I say_ waterproofed rifle) Heym DB 88 PH, in 450-caliber, was completly restauratet in the last 6 weeks. I looks brand-new.

Here I will post you some photos.

I hope you will enjoy it.

Best wishes.

P.S.:
Sorry for my bad school-english.

The barrels comes now to the "hammering-machine", to get prepared to the different calibers, from .22 to 600 Nitro Express. Heym makes over 100 different calibers.

This is my favourite room in the factory.
The well-tempareted room for the wood.
Here you can search your lovely wood for your stock, every kangh, every colour and -of course-
every price.

After this we go in the little indoor-ranch at Heym.
Ivan is here posing an brand-new Heym 26. This is an over and under double, hand cocked (the only thing that he dont like on this rifle) and a great peace of markmansship.

The Heym 26 ist in opinion and test series the accurated gun ever with two barrels.
It is an secret from Heym to build them.

We shhot more than a dozend of rounds (German 8 mm, near bei the US 30-06) in less that 3 minutes. No barrels cooling, no waiting, no nothing.

The result:
The shoots, at 100 Meters, was all in an 8 cm circle.

For an double rifle it is nearly unbeleaveble, but this is true.

The moste DB, or all, I know, starts at first with the waiting time between the first two shoots, then we cirle will be larger and large from every shoot.

Was that a 10,000.00 (ten-thousand) Euro piece of wood or a 1,000.00 (one-thousand) Euro piece of wood Ivan is holding?

Cool pix... neat story. I am sure Ivan will get a year or two in the bush before he needs to send her back for an overhaul! Wink
