Roman, that is a fantastic trophy boar. Congratulations.

How was he hunted? Stalking, or from a stand?

Here in the US we have a slang term for making a U-Turn while driving a car.
To make a U-Turn is to "Flip a Bitch"
I don't know where the roots of this vernacular are, but I think we can apply this slang term to your boar's behavior after you shot it!

How cool is it that these Russian guys can share

with us their double rifle hunting experiences!

The 'net' is a good thing when used right. I'll

submit that the day will come when some of us

go over there to hunt with them, and or they

come over here and hunt with us, and or we all
meet in AFRICA!!!wave Note the British made

Roman,

Is it legal to reload in Russia? If you are, is it easy to obtain reloading components?

Thanks, guys!

It was collective hunt, when some hunters are standing in shooters line, others - are pushing animals with dogs.

Reload is very difficult in Russia, we have to order components from USA, but there are many restrictions from US Gov to send components to Russia. But we do it, because 1 cartridge in .500 costs 35 USD!

Our DRs are intended for Africa, now we just had fun and some trainings before meeting buff or ele Smiler

Krieghoff is very popular in Russia, great double rifles, nice price Smiler

It is easy to buy shotguns (only 5 to one person). We can buy rifles only after 5 years of owning a shotgun (only 5 to one person too), and procedure is more difficult.

No handguns.

Best wishes to you too!

You mention you buy reloading components in the US.

You can't buy everything you need in Europe ?

I would have thought most items were available in Europe ?

After all, you have Norma, SmartReloader, RWS, W Romey etc etc, I can't think of much you can't get in Europe.

I wish our Russian friends the very best success in getting proper handloading supplies to their benches from ANYWHERE in the world!
Over on NitroExpress someone was talking about having a US post-office box and a 'mail forward' service.
Have components mailed to US mailbox, then simply forward overseas!
Makes things simple, and makes it quick...

On S. Palin look-alikes, (and a good southern woman's 'twang') bring them on!
I promise we can find some way to accommodate their 'natural sense of hospitality' !!

Perhaps they can join us up in Alaska at the "halfway there" gathering I'm pitching for.
I can just imagine the possibilities...

I will ask my friend from S.Peterburg make some photos of sling and will post them later.

500N, look at MidWay Suomi, and their terrible prices in euros Smiler It doesn't make any sense to reload with that prices Smiler We buy powder and primers from Finland, but everything other - from US much cheaper even with delivery.

I can't imagine trying to order and import reloading components from the USA into Russia. The government bureaucracy to actually order and get everything delivered must be terrible.

European prices for a lot of merchandise is very high. Sometimes the quality is much better so, it makes sense to spend more. However, on identical items the price is still much higher then the USA even when you remove the VAT (Value Added Tax).

Here is the belt. Very handy for hunting, where animals are put out to you. Sometimes we have to wait for the beast to one hour and at the same tired hands. The manufacturer is not known.

Thank you for giving us the photograph of that belt. I'm going to start making one for myself today. I assume that there is a piece of metal, bent to shape, inside the hooked piece that cradles the gun?

When our Russian friends Roman and Bulldog posted these photos of their hunt, I really admired the sling that the one man was wearing. I finally got around to making the 60 mile trip to my closest Tandy Leather store a few days ago. Here are a few photos of my rendering of that sling. I used 10 ounce shoulder leather which is considerably heavier than the one in the photo, but it will last several lifetimes. The nicest use that I foresee for this sling is the carry that I'm showing in the two photos. It will be darned handy when standing for a long period of time, carrying a heavy rifle like this 11 pound .450 #2 NE, gun at the ready.
