Forgot to say there is something strangely satisfying about gazing down the business end of a double, if only these old rifles could speak of their exploits of yesteryear, I wonder what animals may have seen those holes as their last vision on earth

Jack, Very Nice! I'm sure the wait was worth it. I can't wait to hear if it shoots as well as it looks.

Congrats!

Thanks Bob,
When it first got to me last fall, I had
it at the range with retreever [Mike]. It
shot nice tight groups. I expect that to
be unchanged. We shall see, I am confident.

The case coloring is brand new, part of the
work JJ did over at www.champlinarms.com -
The rifle is pre WW II, and perhaps pre WWI

Jack: Congratulations and good hunting with your double. It seems your patience in finding the right one paid off. It is a beauty. When I hold a gun like that I wish it could tell me what it has seen and what it has faced. A beautiful piece of history! thumb

Jack, curious where you bought it. I might have owned this rifle at one time. George Caswell sold it for us. I might have serial number somewhere. Coloring was nice when i had it but not new so yours might be a different rifle.

PM me if you wish

then have had D/R gatherings to shoot with others nearby (sort of) too. Doc 52 was one of those guys. I look
