Midway has Redding dies available but is back ordered on RCBS. Any reason not to go with the Redding dies? Are they standard thread size?

Muletrain, I'm using Redding dies with my Chapuis .470 and they are fine dies. Cheaper that RCBS and of very high quality. Not one single problem with them. They are the standard thread size and I'm using mine with a RCBS rockchucker. Its a tight squeez and I'm thinging of getting a new press with a larger window as the .416 Rigby and .470 require the die be backed out to free the loaded round from the press. I hear the new rockchucker has a larger opening but I'm also looking at the new Redding press. Thinking about adding a .450 NE to the mix.

I have the Redding Reloading Dies for my 470. When I received them the decapping rod assembly was not centered in the die. I returned the die to Redding, they corrected the problem and returned it immediately.

I do like the dies and at the time they were substantially cheaper the RCBS.

The Rockchucker RC IV is large enough to properly load the 470. It is what I use.

Yes - IMHO they are the BEST dies made. My 470NE dies and 99% of my other dies are Redding. I have used RCBS dies in the past, but they all have been replaced by Redding.

Thanks for the info. I will order a set of Redding dies. I also need a new press. My C&H press does not have a priming arm and I have been doing all my priming with a Lee hand priming tool. So it would make sense to get new dies and a new press and be done with it.

The main reason Redding 470 dies are cheaper is they have made them a “production” die not special order. I like the quality of Redding over RCBS or CH.

Another vote for Redding. Great products reasonably priced.
