After all the crap and waiting, Remington has offically notified certain suppliers and stocking dealers that the 45-70 Spartan double is dead. They won't say the 30-06 is out but it seems they won't say what decade it might appear. "Experience" is the only class you take where the exam comes before the lesson.

It's available in Europe as MP-221 'Artemida'. I hate to break it to you, but Remington does not have decades left.

MAYBE they are holding out for a 395 version. I'll officially start that rumor. Pressure concerns be damned, they plan to call it "THE RIPPER"... SCI Life Member DSC Life Member

Jim, So that is what Remington R&D in Elizabethtown, Kentucky is working on! I sent drawings of the .395 trio of bullets from GSC to them. I was hoping for more but I'll settle for a .395/450 NE 2-inch in the Baikal. Should be good with those cast bullets from Midway meant for paper patching. They are .395 caliber without the patch. I guess I can take the $500 out of my pocket and spend it on other toys. Frank "I don't know what there is about buffalo that frightens me so.....He looks like he hates you personally.
