Cal,
That's it. It's a large, multi-threaded aluminum body, into which one threads the various sleeves, etc.

My guy made a set of inserts for the RCBS cowboy die so that I can load 20ga.
He made a sizer ring and crimp insert.
He also made me two separate sized dies 12 and 20 gauge.

From our double rifle shoot today. Six shots in two holes! 12-bore load was a 590-grain ball sized to .740, 3 drams or 110 grains of FFFg with an over powder wad and some spacers. Not bad if I do say so myself!
Cal
PS. I don't know who shot the small holes.

Bravo,
Very satisfactory result.
Probably do well with a Paradox type bullet.

Interesting point. In all of my 4s and 8s over the years I could never get a Paradox bullet to print an acceptable target at any range. In my current 4 and 8s I can shoot 4-5" at 50 yards with both ball and conical but a Paradox shoots 12-18" at the same distance.
Is this just me? Any gents out there shooting Paradox accurately out of bore rifles that have full rifling? If so, what's the secret?

Cal, I'm gonna channel Shootaway for a moment.

Those are nice groups but you've got bigger problems afoot! Some of your bullets seem to have shrunk appreciably enroute to the target! You say this is at 30 yards? At this rate I think those top two bullets would disappear completely by 50. Not too useful for hunting.

With all of these problems I'm sure you'll want to disposes of it. I'll give you a great trade on a nice, reliable, broken in SKS.

I suspect that those ity bity holes were from Matt shooting across the range.

The belt on a RB once engraved in the barrel is about the same bearing surface of the front belt on a paradox molded bullet.

So the second belt doubles the bearing surface.

Paradox bullet should weigh a little more depending on alloy and hollow tip.
Or if it is the WR steel capped Explora type.

I really can't see the slighly slower velocities (due to slight mass and bearing surface) throwing off things that much.
Maybe slower or faster powder to change the pressure curve, barrel time and recoil impulse.

Just some thoughts

Cal, my guess is that there is a big difference between a Paradox gun's rate of twist and the rates of twist of your bore rifles. What is the rate of twist in your 12 bore?

1:100. That's why balls shoot so well.
However, in 8s and 4s with 1:100 and 1:50 I can't get Paradox bullets to group worth a damn.

Guys you need to confirm to Cal the he's not supposed to have those paradox bullets look like wad cutters. The pointy end goes outward!

Cal, if memory serves me, a 12 gauge Paradox barrel is more like 1:34". Perhaps you could knock the edges off your Paradox bullets and tumble them to make them more round.
