Well, I took my home built 45-100 DR with the Merkel frame to the local gun club turkey shoot. Lots of comments like what the hell is THAT?? Guy running the running deer event says we're having a special run---two shots at the deer target while it's running between the two trees. Great, I got yer two shots right here! Won the turkey on the first entry, got two shots in the 9 ring on the 100 yd target they staple on the deer. Second entry, I put one in the 10 ring, and the second west of Cleveland, I think. They wouldn't accept my story that they went through the same hole......

I've had the same reaction from some doubters regarding my better shooting exploits. Worse, when I offer to repeat my performance and put two through the same hole they just don't want to see it!

incidentially - shooting at running deer is a requisite to getting your hunting license in scandinavian countries. double rifles are a prefered weapon for this.
