Andries, fun guy. When he was an appy with HHK he backed up on a buddy's elephant. He needed a certain amount of dangerous game experience in his log book. The instructions were, once the client shoots a brain shot, Andries, put in a heart/lung shot. We stalk up to approximately 30 yards. My buddy takes a side brain shot . . . Andries follows up immediately with a heart/lung shot. Elephant goes down. We walk up and start inspecting the elephant. We find the side brain shot . . . but there is no heart/lung shot . . . Andries missed. Not sure that went in the log book. He took it in good humor.

Cal, next time you see or talk to Andries, ask him about the Olsen twins.

Allow me of offer an explanation for Biebs' post.

Both Biebs and Frostbit have been posturing themselves for an officer's position in the Cal Pappas Fan Club. Biebs was actually looking for the President's position and posted videos of some of my hunts here in the hope he could move through the ranks quickly and ahead of Frostbit.

One video, my first, is where I shoot poorly on a cape buff--my first hunt with my .600. That, plus wearing bright pink/red ear protection (for loss prevention should they fall in the grass) and that I don't hunt with the PH in the film any longer, are three reasons I didn't want it posted. The film maker and producer posted it somewhere on the internet against my (friendly) wishes.

The other film, actually pretty good, showing clips of a few hunts, was made by the same gent with the hopes of getting on the Hunting Channel or the Outdoor Channel. After some editing it was accepted as the quality was good and the hunter had a striking resemblance to George Clooney! The only reason it never made it to cable television is I was required to obtain 8 minutes of advertising (a half hour film is actually 22 minutes with 8 minutes of ads). This will never happen as the cost is approximately $11,000 per one minute slot! Since no one knows who the hell I am and since I can't plug any modern equipment there is absolutely no chance any company would advertise their products on my cable show. (Hell, my most modern rifle was made in 1920).

So, Jon, if you would, feel free to repost the video of the hippo, water, buff, and caribou hunt. The clips together total 9 minutes--called a sizzle in the industry (I think). It is well done and acceptable to the folks on AR.
