The 246 Purdey was introduced in 1921 for use in their double rifles, and was never very popular, and is now obsolete. The factory ammo 100 gr bullet @ 2950fps, producing 1934 FPE at muzzle, about the same as the 243 Win. The 240 Flanged Magnum from H&H was almost the exact same ballisticlly, but was far more popular with the shooting public! ....Mac >>>===(x)===> MacD37, ...and DUGABOY1 DRSS Charter member "If I die today, I've had a life well spent, for I've been to see the Elephant, and smelled the smoke of Africa!"~ME 1982 Hands of Old Elmer Keith | |||
