Good lord, Steve - do you shoot it or beat the game to death with it?

That's a biggin. What's the drop on a 700 gtain bullet from that beast? Just want to be sure it doesn't land on my foot...

im getting 1350-1375fps from a 10" barrel im sighted in for 30 yards as 50 yards is my max with the iron sights on that revolver.

and i bought it as a point blank pig gun anyways.

i highly recommend shooting gloves when shooting those loads as its rather stout.

Steve, you are going to be right up there with my BFR in 50 alaskan powerwise. I have shot the 700 grainers in the 500 S&W 500 mag at 1200 ft/sec. and they kick quite a bit. I got 1928ft/sec with 450 grain bullets and 1710 ft/sec with 525 grain buffalo bore ammo out of my BFR. That is humping it pretty pretty good. I do confess that I wear leather gloves most of the time when shooting it.

Jim, thanks for thinking of me. I have only now had a chance to sit and read about the latests shoot and hunt. Sound like I missed a wonderful event. I wish I had brought that little piggy to a taxidermist to have mounted. I could put it on my mantle next to my "Piggy Bank". I think they were about the same size. No one here believes I could hit anything that small with my double.

If someone is putting the June hunt together I am signing on now.

I hope to read you all some more as reports continue to file in.

Sounds like it would be a good idea to visit Cabella's for some snake gaiters!
