I just joined the club, my Sabatti Big Five in 500NE shipped today. I've read some about using lathe turned bullets in doubles. I understand not to use them in pre-war double, but what about recent made? Anything else I need to know about my double? It's not a CABO gun, I talked to Ken Owen about it. Good luck and good shooting. I’ve used Barnes TSX and banded solids in my .470 with no apparent issues and so far the rifling hasn’t shown up on the outside of the barrel ![]() Karl Evans

Same here. I've shot noting but Barnes TSX or Banded Solids, Northfork solids and CUPs, and CEB solids or Raptors in all of my doubles. Never shot a single non monometal bullet in any of them. All rifles managed to keep the rifling firmly planted inside the barrel!!
