IF this is a Pedersolli there have been a few rechambered to the low pressure 450NE#2 but hardly the pressures of a 458 WM. BUT Keep in mind that those barrels are brazed together and it'd be a major effort to try to re regulate if it's needed after a rechamber. Thanks Mike Good point on the regulation. Saw a few posts complaining about weight, do you have any idea of the actual weight? Would you say the browning in 9,3x74 would be a better shooter? I used to have one in 9.3X74 not a 45-70. IIRC it was a 10# rifle and shot very good. I've never shot a Browning DR so I can't say about them. My brother had a Pederolosi 45/70 and teh factory sent him the information that it would safely take Marlin 45/70 type loads. I would NOT recommend 458 Win Mag pressures. DOUBLE RIFLE SHOOTERS SOCIETY | |||

The 450 #2 will do the same basic speeds as all the others in this range. 480-500 grains @ 2050 fps. But you're probably going to need to fine tune loads to suit that gun.
