The good news is that I outbid Jeff Wemmer for PeeWee Hermans 1972 Daisy Red Rider custom lever action. It prints 5 BB's into a nickle at 10 yards. Am off after a rouge sparrow in the backyard tomorrow.

Yeah, you beat (no pun intended)me on that one allright! shocker

I hear the action is a little sticky on that one!

Better a sticky action than a sticky extraction... can't believe I posted this! Big Grin

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
- Rudyard Kipling

Life grows grim without senseless indulgence.

Excuse my ignorance but could someone explain to me what a buyer premium is. It almost looks like the commission for the auction house but that is normally paid by the seller.

The way I understand is that the buyer pays the premium.
so if its a 10% premium on a 1000 price you would end up paying 1100.

Most auction houses have a buyer's premium AND a sellers premium.
Usually though, on a gun with a high price or high historical interest (which will bring in lots of buyers whom are likely to bid on other guns) the seller's premium is waived.
I don't know offhand what Julia's premiums are, but there are a few that charge 15% coming and going.

It would be extremely rare for a sellers premium to be totally waived.

Auctioneers/commission houses do bugger all for free. It's like a whore giving you a "freeby" because she likes your looks.

It might happen, but not likely. Wink

Disagree John. At JDJ I haven't been charged a sellers fee in some time, they are extremely gracious to a consigner when you are able to furnish them with high end merchandise for the sale. Holt's the same thing.

Agree. Holt's would NOT get high end H&H's from H&H if they charged H&H a sellers fee.

Sometimes the bebenfit of having a high end or special gun outweighs the $ amount of the sellers fee.

To the best of my knowledge for high end guns Julia does not charge a sellers fee.

ps. It went for $295,000.....without the "Juice"!
