I have pretty much decided to mount the Doktor Optik on my 500 NE. How difficult is it to zero one of these compared to a scope? Do they hold their zero well after being beat around in a truck and/or air plane? Thanks.

Larry, It is not at all difficult to adjust these sights, yes there is a learning curve, but quite easy to learn,I have been using these sights on all my DR's,I have not experienced a single failure yet,and my guns get shot quite a bit. DRSS

Larry...I've mounted these sights on (2)470 NEs, a 500NE, and my 600OK bolt rifle. All sighted in at 50yds...mounted out of the box, first shots on the paper, and simply dialed in like a scope. I've used Burris, Leupold, and Trijicon red dots, but not Dr Optik. I prefer the Trijicon since you can manually adjust the brightness of the dot to minimize the reflective "dot blooming" effect. I've used these sights for about two years with no POI changes BUT I admit not enough "banging around" time in the back of a cruiser....never enough time doing that! Bob DRSS DSC SCI NRA & ISRA

Larry I have 3 Doctor Optic's mounted on rifles. They are my favorite of the small red dots. They are easy to sight in, and i have never had one loose its zero. One of the things I like about the DO is that it automatically adjusts for the ambient light conditions. If in bright light you think the dot is too bright you can put a piece of tape over the "electric eye" opening on the front of the sight. I have never found it necessary to do so. What kind of alteration occurs with the double to mount one? ______________________ DRSS ______________________ Hunt Reports 2015 His & Her Leopards with Derek Littleton of Luwire Safaris - http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/2971090112 2015 Trophy Bull Elephant with CMS http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/1651069012 DIY Brooks Range Sheep Hunt 2013 - http://forums.accuratereloadin...901038191#9901038191 Zambia June/July 2012 with Andrew Baldry - Royal Kafue http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/7971064771 Zambia Sept 2010- Muchinga Safaris http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/4211096141 Namibia Sept 2010 - ARUB Safaris http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/6781076141
