As a young person I wanted a double because of what I read. This Forum makes me thrilled I use a bolt gun for my hunting.

Thank you.

I know I should not because Buli wants a response, but I will play.

THE COMMANDMENTS OF DANGEROUS GAME RIFLES

V. Thou shalt not do as the Bolt Rifle Heathen (BRH) do, but proclaim unto them the gospel of truth.

Secretly, Buli wants to hunt in Namibia with a NAPHA approved PH using a fine double rifle. (In case you missed it he had several rants about NAPHA)

it's the whole Zen Master thing in action...

They eschew beauty in life in favor of the commonplace and ordinary. Neither of those words fits Double Rifles.

Nice people though, you may remember the saffron robed guys and girls in the airports "spare change"?

Buliwyf,

Mike70560 hath pointed you toward the truth.

Thou hast proclaimed thyself, "Proud Citizen of the Bolt Trash Nation of Riflemen".

Thou hast haughtily said, "As a young person I wanted a double because of what I read. This Forum makes me thrilled I use a bolt gun for my hunting."

Thou hast pridefully said, "You can't shoot fast enough to make up for misses."

Since thou art a NRA Life Member and a SCI Member, thou mightest be saved. Remember that pride goeth before a hangfire. You read of the truth in your youth, but were led astray.

Hear my words, oh wayward Buliwyf:

I have heard the reproach of Buliwyf, and the revilings of the Bolt Trash Nation of Riflemen,
whereby they have reproached my people, and magnified themselves against their border.

Surely the Bolt Trash Nation of Riflemen shall be as split cartridge casings, a perpetual
desolation: their powder residue shall overcome them. They shall have everlasting copper fouling, yea, even extraction failures.

This shall they have for their pride, because they have reproached and magnified themselves
against the people of the Double Rifle Shooters Society. It will indeed be terrible unto them:
for these proud will famish all of them; and their shots shall not strike vital areas.

Ye Proud Citizen of the Bolt Trash Nation of Riflemen also, ye shall be slain by the Mamba.

And the Lion will stretch out his hand against them, and destroy the Bolt Trash Nation of
Riflemen; and will make their hunting areas a desolation, and dry like a wilderness.

This is the prideful BRH that dwelt carelessly, that said in their heart, I am, and there is none beside me: how is they become a desolation, a place for beasts to lie down in! every one that passeth by BRH shall hiss, and wag his hand.

Buliwyf, for your penance, repent and read these Commandments:

http://forums.accuratereloadin...0101804/m/7821016621

Go and sin no more.

Use a double rifle. It just feels better.

I was a counselor for the Idaho Youth Ranch, a last chance before you go to Juvenile Prison here.
We had a large percentage of kids who would act up in school, etc because they did not get enough nurturing/attention from family. We would classify them as kids who preferred to be abused as opposed to ignored. Very common.

I think this is just Bully acting out, from lack of proper interaction.

Therefore thou art inexcusable, O Bolt Rifle Heathen, whosoever thou art that judgest: for thou condemnest thyself.

But we are sure that the judgment of the Double Rifle Shooters Society is according to truth against them which commit such heresies.

And thinkest thou this, O Proud Citizen of the Bolt Trash Nation of Riflemen, that thou shalt escape the judgment?

Thou despisest the riches of DRSS goodness and forbearance and longsuffering. Their goodness doth attempt to lead thee unto repentance.

But thy hardened and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of all that is good.

The Double Rifle Shooters Society will render to every man according to his deeds:

To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory, honour, accuracy, and eternal good hunting: But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there shall be fitful breezes and releasing floorplates, upon every Bolt Rifle Heathen that doeth evil. But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good and embraceth the Sacred Double Rifle or the Sublime Single Loader.

Use a double rifle. It just feels better.

I have a very realistic self-image. I learned in the US Army that I can kill anything or anybody if I am willing to live with the consequences.

So, I am not afraid of anything or anyone...
And, I have nothing left to prove to anybody either.

So there!

Rich

Oh, yes; we are awfully glad you choose to hunt with a bolt gun as well. Perhaps, moreso than you are.

Buliwyf,
Smoking crack and playing with guns is a bad combination. You should try to give one of them up.

Buli, I bet you are the same guy who thought the best looking girl in school was an "ugly bitch" because she would have nothing to do with you.......The guy who shuns what he really wants but cannot have.

Hell I love bolt guns and I also loved certain things about the class whore.......I ended up with a fine sidelock double and the "ugly bitch" that wouldn't talk to you.......I suppose that left you with the good ole bolt gun and the class whore........good for you!! At least you finally got some.

I don't have a DR yet, but have shot several SXS shotguns. I prefer the Lever action, but you can't get FAST cartridges in them, generally. I have a couple or four bolt guns, 2 SMLE's, 1 P17, and an M77 MkII in .300. I use them, and fairly well, but they're not RIGHT, to me. The break-open SXS is MUCH more Natural-seeming. I don't count autoloaders, they are plinking or Combat weapons, depending on the gun, not a TRUE Hunting Gun, IMO. Perhaps it's because I was raised on Real RIFLES that I can't entirely Trust and Love my bolt guns. I do love and trust my 336 and 1895, as I would and do fine DR's. However, if I should ever be attacked by an AR-wielding maniac Liberal, I will have ZERO fear of him as long as I have shells for the old Enfield. With all due respect to Saint Peter(-Paul Mauser), I wouldn't trade ONE good SMLE for TEN K-98's. My Problem is that NOBODY makes The Ultimate Rifle, which would be a Marlin chambered in .375 H&H or .400 Jeffery. Yet, as a rifle-ophile, this gives me a Damned Fine Irrefutable Excuse to own MANY rifles, which is, after all, the Ultimate Goal. One MUST have a Plinker, to teach the daughters and/or sons to shoot and whack the occasional snake or mouse. We need a medium bore Repeater, like a 336 in .35 Remington. We also need some Ballistic Lightning in the common form of a Bolt. In these troubled times we require some sort of Battle Rifle, for when the Liberadicals, Nazis, or Zombies are overrunning our Personal H.Q.'s. Make mine a Garand, an M-14/M1A, or the Trusty FAL. An SKS will be adequate, if I have no choice. But to be REAL, Complete Riflemen, we MUST have a Stopper. This means a Double, and Yes, Size Matters. The Biggest, Baddest, Rompin'-Stompinest round that you personally can always hit a popcan with. And it MUST say 'Nitro Express' on the head. These are the Bare Neccessities. Take them away and leave me only one, let it be the Stopper, that I may Fear No Evil. Because I can HUNT, and I'm VERY Sneaky in the woods. I WILL Get Close, and I'll only need ONE shot. Then I will have what I require from you, be it your Ivory, your flesh, your Select-Fire AR, or just Vengeance. All the others are Nice-To-Haves, Niche-Fillers, Specialists. The Stopper is the Neccessity, the one without which we are Incomplete as Riflemen. I will also venture that bullet-proof vests/body armor will NOT save you from the Stopper as it will the rest of them. It may prevent penetration, but with a neck snapped from the sheer impact, it's rather Moot. Of course, it always boils down to the MAN behind the rifle, doesn't it?
