I might stain and oil the area to roughly match and to protect the wood from moisture etc. but not sand or otherwise alter the area. I would also not even consider ordering a second part from VC. Of course you also realize that it would be a shame to ever sell the weapon and you or your family had better be starving if you do. I am also very glad that you are still upright and taking in oxygen!

This is an example why African lions scare the crap out of me, especially when following a group of lionesses! Those bitches are not only cheeky, but tend to charge in mass if pushed too hard! Hope you don’t have a septic problem to add to the pain and damage!

It seems I now have a staph infection. Which I am pretty sure I got at the hospital in the states when they put a plate on my broken bone. To me the staph infection is at least as scary as the lioness attack.

I know what you mean about infections from hospitals! They scare me as much as the lion!
