What you don't want to do to your new VC
I might stain and oil the area to roughly match and to protect the wood from moisture etc. but not sand or otherwise alter the area. I would also not even consider ordering a second part from VC. Of course you also realize that it would be a shame to ever sell the weapon and you or your family had better be starving if you do. I am also very glad that you are still upright and taking in oxygen!

This had me busting up! I'm about to read the hunt report, I'm sure it's one of those great stories, you'll have some nice scars to display. You earned that trophy and the old girl went down fighting.

Will post the story over the weekend.

This is an example why African lions scare the crap out of me, especially when following a group of lionesses! Those bitches are not only cheeky, but tend to charge in mass if pushed too hard! Hope you don’t have a septic problem to add to the pain and damage!

It seems I now have a staph infection. Which I am pretty sure I got at the hospital in the states when they put a plate on my broken bone. To me the staph infection is at least as scary as the lioness attack.
