Having had the pleasure of shooting Bal's .458 Lott, I can understand why he would want a girlie caliber. I think it rattled my fillings loose!
A nice little .500-.416 would be sooo relaxing to shoot..

Bal, since you're not using it for Plains Game, so the safety is not a concern, you might consider a Blaser S2. They come ready to scope and few DRs are as accurate. No sense having the ballistics to shoot 200-250 yards if your double groups at that distance are measured in feet! You could probably find one for $8,500 or less new. Let me know...I have some Blaser contacts.

Larry,
that is a nice gun but the scope setup would be wasted,I like red dot sights or iron sights, thanks for pointing it out though.

Biebs,
thanks for the offer, but Blaser just does not do it for me.

Owned a Krieghoff 500/416...great round - much better for ele than a .470

rifle begs for a Leupold delta point or Aimpoint micro dot on it.

Big Grin Test fired it today @ 40 yds. Sub MOA with Speer 350 & 400 grainers as well as Barnes 400 gr. TSX's. Having a Kick ezz pad put on. Then will try Woodleigh's in it next.

.500/.416, created by Krieghoff, same performance as the legendary .416 Rigby, but with a rim, more suitable for double rifles, and with less breach pressure than a .416 Rigby. If you like the great .375 H. & H. mag., you will love the .500/.416. 400 grain bullet gave a measured 5 full feet of penetration through ele. skull, what better performance do you need?
