With regard to the forearm. I was shooting my 88B Safari (470) quite a bit a few years back in preparation for a hunt. I was taken by how fast the barrel heated up in a low pressure cartridge. About 3 shots through a tube and the barrel would about blister your fingertips. In 80F ambient temp. I realize you do not take many shots with these type rifles in real world applications but I do not mind a little wider forearm sometimes. I guess you could use gloves…I hate gloves! EZ | |||

Yes, this is correct. If you fire 6 quick shoots the barrel will go "hot". After 8 quick shoots you cant touch them for some minutes... So you can have the "slinter forarm", in the classic english way, or the "beavertail" (witch protects your fingers), witch is more "teutonic". | |||
