Can someone explain to me how and why this adversely affects recoil? This is a curiosity question, nothing more.

Nobody I know! It simply causes a danger of head seperation from case stretch or missfire wit not enough fireing pin contact! I.ve never heard of it causing excess recoil. I could be wrong however, I was once back in 1954! .............................................................................. ....Mac >>>===(x)===> MacD37, ...and DUGABOY1 DRSS Charter member "If I die today, I've had a life well spent, for I've been to see the Elephant, and smelled the smoke of Africa!"~ME 1982 Hands of Old Elmer Keith
