Beautiful rifle. I'm sure that it will live up to your expectations.

If that color case hardening is really that brilliant in real life, it is stunning. I've never seen case hardening that intensely colored.

Simply magnificent. I really love how the CCH came out, VERY beautiful color variation. Mine was a bit more subdued, but I REALLY love the way yours came out, Morten!

Thanks folks !

Jorge: i was told that there were two types of CHC. The French one using chemicals and the English one using horn, bones, hair and skin tissue. Do not ask me how, but using the chemicals gives less color variation. To get the CHC on my rifle they have in fact sent it to London to the gunsmiths there.

I think that photoes in day light will change the colors a bit on both the CHS and wood.

Congratulations on a beautiful rifle! Looks like a classic British DR with that round body. I wondered if it was charcoal CC.

Thanks John.

Thanks to all of you - especially to some of you that have helped me on the way. No names mentioned, no one forgotten - you know for your self.

Plan to pick up the rifle in November. Some paperwork first for import and export licenses. Maybe my shoulder is ok for testing. Keep you posted.

One exciting thing is that I received 100 CEB bullets today by a special courier airborne from the US. I really look forward to test those bullets - I just have to learn reloading Wink

I spoke to Ken today and this VC in the top post is what I want in a .300 flanged. I would have a splinter for end and drop the big-lump-thing on the barrel. This would then be my caribou rifle for Alaska instead of my .450-400.

Cal, did not Ken tell you that I have a Copyright on that VC ? Wink However, for a small million dollar fee I might accept others to join the party Big Grin

300 Flanged for caribou hunts ? Sounds good - although I was planning to bring my Blaser R8 Prof in 300 Win Mag for my caribou and mountain grizzly hunt in Yukon neXT year. Never thought of it, but maybe my Heym in 9,3x74R loaded with 232-250 grains bullets would be nice ? What about a DRSS event for caribou ?? Wink

One million is no problem. Send your post address and I will mail you the correct amount in Zimbabwe currency.

I've shot plenty of caribou with a .450-400 and it is over kill but fun. I do not have a double smaller than the .450-400. The .300 flanged is deal for me but the Holland Royals are a bit pricey--Caswell has a nice one for 67K. I can't justify spending that much on a rifle I will shoot weekly and hunt often with.
I go to the Yukon often. Email me your dates and perhaps we can meet or, if you wish, plan a trip to AK for a visit, stay at my place, and shoot a few dice doubles.
Cheers,
Cal
